  • Yes, we provide: Home Making Services, personal care, assisting client with hygiene and skin care, supervising, sitting, nutrition and dietary needs, grocery shopping, transportation, laundry, dry cleaning, respite, companionship, feeding, meal preparation, bathing, hair dressing/barbering, clothing/shopping, outings/outdoor tasks and activities, heavy cleaning, nursing services, pet services, and safety and welfare.
  • Yes, we provide: Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Health Care Aides, Nurse’s Aides, Home Support Workers, Child Care Providers, Companions/Sitters, Yard work/Handymen, Home Cleaners, Special Needs Support Workers, Live-in Caregivers, Home Makers, Nannies, and Pet Care. All of our employees are insured and bonded.
  • Yes, Compassionate Care employs a diverse group of staff to meet the many cultural, ethnic and language needs in the community. Compassionate Care has a database with more than 40 spoken languages.
  • Yes, Compassionate Care requires the following prior to hire: a clean, current criminal record check (no older than 3 months to date), a Provincial Child Abuse Registry Check (no older than 3 months to date), a Child & Family Services Prior Child Abuse Registry Check (upon application process), a current CPR level C certificate (no older than 1 year to date), and a current Emergency First Aid certificate (no older than 3 year to date).
  • Yes, once hired, all Compassionate Care employees are required to attend the following courses: Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training, PHIA Training, Autism Training, Non-Verbal Communication Training, In-House Orientation, and In-House work shop.
  • Yes, we do. We provide basic transportation to and from shopping, errands, school, activities, etc.
  • Most of the Home Care Services purchased are by private clients or third parties who may contribute wholly or partially to the costs. Third party agencies include: Insurance Companies including health insurance and long-term care, Workers’ Compensation, Health Ministries, Human Resources Ministries/Social Services, Indian Affairs Agencies, National Institutes for the Blind, Senior Citizens Agencies, Veterans Administration, and Public Trustees.
  • Clients look for the following when selecting a Home Care Service Provider: the experience and length of time you / the agency have been providing home care services, that established standards are met, literary handouts that provide information on services, eligibility requirements, fee structures and sources of funding are available, assurance that you / employees are bonded and covered by liability insurance, assurance that you / employees are protected by workers’ compensation board, confirmation that you / employees are certified professionally (if applicable), confirmation that service is provided “24/7” (24 hours a day, 7 days a week), confirmation that the client and family will be involved in case management activities for needs assessment, care planning, referrals and follow-ups, contingency plans are in place for worker absences and emergencies, and that references from community professionals and clients are available.
